Shock.
Another step on the road to banging the goals in for Galway United.
I still think the Albion have some blame in this. I don’t think he was handled well at all, and he should definitely have had a Championship loan before being thrown in at the deep end and given a big contract. I hope...
It's a lovely message.
I'd be amazed if he wrote it himself. Did he make that video too?
Anyway, good luck to him. There is a professional footballer in there somewhere.
Good luck to him. It was clearly far too much, far too soon for him here. I still think the club have to take some responsibility, I don't think he was handled very well. Hopefully he's grown up a bit now and it will work out for him at Hull.
On another thread you are going mad about how disloyal Caicedo is for wanting to move clubs to double his wages, yet here you are saying Connolly is mad to try and further his career on less money.
Which makes me think that you would be doing exactly as Caicedo is in his position.
He said something similar before he went to Venice.
The funny thing is, he would score goals in the current Brighton team. I think he is done here though, I don't think certain players in the squad are particularly fond of him, from what I've heard.
Our manager at the time had a Masters in emotional intelligence, I'm sure he could have handled it! It didn't need to be a hard line, just needed to show him why it was happening. If he then went with a chip on his shoulder and sulked, it would have answered a lot of questions for us.
If that is genuinely true then I think the club DID let him down. They should have insisted that it was the right thing for his development.
I wonder where we'd be if he had gone out on loan then.
I suspect exactly the same place, unfortunately.
It isn't his fault, but the argument is that he is not doing anything to justify it, which is (partly) his fault. Fans spend thousands of pounds to watch these guys every season, and if one of them is being paid more in a week than they are in a year and doesn't seem to be taking it seriously...
I'm not sure it's a red herring. It's clearly not the only problem, but if someone is struggling to cut it at the top level then having that kind of lifestyle is going to make it impossible for them. Players who aren't really quite good enough for the Premier League can still make it if they...
And Swansman somehow just cannot understand that Sussex is a small place and members of the public regularly have interactions with Brighton players, especially ones that are out on the town more than anybody else, so he assumed people are making up the stories, which would be a very odd thing...
‘Adaption issues’. Seems surprising, Aaron Connolly and Venice seemed like the perfect match. I really thought he’d knuckle down and do well there.
Couldn’t cut it Boro, couldn’t cut it at Venezia, how many stops are there left before Crawley Town?
I don’t think the club managed him very well...
It’s more going into get my hair cut or seeing my friend who runs a pub and them saying “Why the **** have you been posting my name on the internet? I told you that in confidence”.
It’s really not that hard to understand.
To be clear, you want me to name his barber, name my friend who runs the pub he goes in, name the people at work who’ve told me things about him out on the town? Do you want me to PM them to you? Can you tell me what this will achieve, seeing as you will have no idea who they are? Upon seeing...
One of my best friends played with Murray at Workington Reds. He knew him fairly well in those days. He always said Glenn was probably one of the better players at that level, but he didn’t really stand out, and of all the players there nobody would have guessed it would be him to go on to be a...
I think the massive point you are missing is that these ‘anonymous sources’ are only anonymous to you. Because you don’t live here. Personally I’m more likely to believe people I know and trust who have told me things about him, especially ones that are very good friends and don’t like football...
