I'm sure you've noticed by now, but if not I've just watched it in full on iplayer from the point I left it to head to the match.
Looks like it's on there in two parts but I only needed to catch up on the last 70km, which was within part 2.
Firstly, get well soon.
Secondly, whatever the arguments for and against helmets I will never forget the injuries a friend of mine suffered at the hands of an articulated lorry on shoreham high street, so I'm in.
Thankfully he slowly recovered and rides another day
Gotta say, not enjoying this bike channel intrusion... Please just stick everything on Eurosport as I don't have freesat!
Not that I doubt the coverage is good if Ned is still involved.
I will second this one. Well worth a watch.
I saw it screened at Duke of York's and Graeme was there with his latest contraption.
Whilst it obviously includes elements of aerodynamics and geekery, it's a very personal documentary and quite revealing about Obree's character, vulnerability and...
TdF route announcement goes live at 10:30am, although it'll no doubt be strung out for some time.
One of the rumoured mountain stages looks like very steep stuff times 3.
Exactly what I was thinking. I'm holding out hope that there's been a mistake and I'm actually off at 8am!
It's going to be strange finishing 100 miles by 11:00 ish.
Any idea when you might be going past Steyning?
Depending how work goes today I could possibly ride out over Titch Hill, down the Bostal and meet you guys there. Or just The Rising Sun if it's easier.
Found the Geeks on Strava now after my first group ride and noticed you guys don't have a logo.
I've knocked this up super quick in case it is wanted (Until someone with some actual design skills comes along).
I might even join then!
Or this if you'd prefer just the one "aero" wheel!
Good to meet you too. Bad luck on the chain, but always great to hang out in Midhurst, right?!
Good work on the PB. I'm currently undoing all the good work in an Arundel beer garden. Desperate to upload the ride though!
Not in 'the club' as yet, no. Probably a suitable Groucho Marx quote here!
Yes, we're off to the alps for our third L'etape. Might be the last for a while but is a beast of a stage this time, so would be a suitable finale (for now).
I'm glad you found the time to get out there in the end and...
Great. Thanks for the info.
I've just got in from an evening ride, so will see how I feel in the morning.
If you don't see a stranger hanging around by 9:30am, then obviously just press on...
Where/ what time do you guys ride from?
I have a Ditchling route planned tomorrow but my riding partner is 50/50 now waiting to hear news on a potential job.
Was planning a solo Arundel loop if he bails.
I realised the other day I haven't even attempted Steyning Bostal, since last season's PB. I do the parallel road, Sopers lane instead and tell myself it's because there's no traffic, rather than avoiding comparing Bostal times!
Next goal is getting the full Kidd's Hill to dip under 6 minutes...
Are you just using Strava's estimate?
We did a very unscientific test of the estimates the other day versus garmin vector pedals for 2 people of the same weight.
It seems it's very accurate until headwinds etc. come into play as it doesn't account for the extra effort at all.
They're certainly two differing types of holiday!
Marie Blanque was the toughest personally. But it was 42 degrees that day, which made it especially taxing with a distinct lack of shade. The first 6km or so are very gentle but the final 4 kilometres are brutal (after a long ride out there)...
I haven't actually climbed any of them! It looks a great week of climbing though and certainly contains a lot of the 'bigguns'.
My list of French climbs has solely been governed by the location of the Etape that year.
In 2013, we didn't get to tick off any really famous ones as we went up:

It's a really good ride, but annoyingly (for me) they've moved it this year.
I've not gone in for the sportives this year, preferring my own training but this used to be at the end of June and I liked doing it as a pre-Etape confidence boost. Or confidence ruiner when you realise it's nowhere...
