Oh do behave. It’s 99.999999% certain they’re a lazy duck. Nothing more. Nothing less. Not saying they’ve not got issues as you say. Just they’re lazy issues. Which is why they can’t cook either. Or make a sandwich seemingly.

I think the stereotype of takeaways being the choice of only obese people has come to an end.

Regularly see my neighbours get deliveries and they’re all slim, healthy-looking types. One of them is in very good shape and she’s the one who seems to get the most deliveries!

I guess delivery options are far wider in choice these days.

Try looking at McDonald’s london road. It’s basically a car park outside of Moped’s of Uber east and Deliveroo drivers

I have definitely been guilty of overusing the Just eat app.

A few years ago several localish takeaway drivers would tell me that it was much cheaper to go on the takeaway's website and order direct.
Clearly Just eat /Uber eats are the only ones benefitting from this.

Fortunately my local Chippy (and kebabs) is stuck in a bygone era - Cash only - no delivery.
They do take phone orders though.

Comfortably the best quality takeaway in the area too.

Yes, same. I like going to the chippy. I chat to the guys, and sometimes meet neighbours in there. And yeah the smell is part of the anticipation.

Mind you I do like the idea in your last sentence, perhaps there's a new business idea there: 'FeedU'. Save the hassle and strain of moving your arms up and down to transport the food from the container to your mouth. The adverts can all be of attractive young people smiling to each other, and then opening wide whilst an operative shovels food into their gobs like a mother bird feeding a chick.

No old boy Muldoons, always shop local. Can’t get too upset obviously but it’s also a tad annoying when clients come into the office with a Starbucks or Costa cup, when there’s three independent cafes, Muldoons, Graze and Roos in the same parade.


They’ve chosen small independent for their funerals but not their coffees 🤷‍♂️

Working my way through a Mighty Bucket For One in Broadwater I’ve just looked up from my window seat and there’s a bloke in the outside seating area of Muldoons staring at me, have we really become a nation of voyeurs?

Edit- also some bloke doing the same across the road in Starbucks!

The house next door is shared by a bunch of late 20/early 30 somethings. There's one guy in there who lives off deliveries. He's is obese. Miserable sod too.

Quite happy to live here where there is no delivery option. When in the UK, prefer to collect takeaway food - nostalgic as I am.

No need to apologise, the ease of delivery and working from home is making people recluses. I travel to many homes in my job and can see it happening. These people have lost the art of communicating and generally sit in silence ignoring me despite my efforts of some chit chat.

It’s well documented younger generations cannot verbally communicate and avoid at all costs. The speed they text and type at however is impressive. If it wasn’t so sad!

Going to stick up for Costa here.
They branded my taste buds a long time ago. My two independents nearby do much better food, I rarely if ever buy food from Costa. But their coffee is way better. There is skill making coffee and I’m very lucky my Costa has permanent people been there years.

Back in the eighties, after pubs shut and gone around someone's house, we'd ring up the local taxi firm and ask them to go a late night petrol station and deliver us a packet of fags, which they did for the cost of the fags plus the cab fare of said packet....
